Welcoming in the holy month of Ramadan

Friday evening – Sunday morning, May 18-20 2018

You’re invited.  Come and be in the holy space of Ramadan with your beloved brothers and sisters for the weekend of the 18th of May in the holy month of Ramadan.  Teachings offered by Laila Brady Walzer in the morning and afternoon on Saturday.  Laila is a Muqaddim Murabbi Ruhi and has carried the Sufi way and taught it for over 15 years.  She has a beautiful spirit and brings in the deep love of Allah through her teaching.  The beginning of Ramadan is a holy time to gather in community.  Ramadan practices and iftar (dinner) will be offered each day. Come for all and stay or come for the day on Saturday.  If you cannot attend the full day, we recommend coming for the afternoon teaching and staying for what you can.  Contact Ra’uf Hayes if interested or for questions.  See program highlights and info below.

Friday Evening:  8PM Iftar and Tarawih prayers after Isha prayer.  Arrive as early as 6:30PM.

 Saturday: Morning Sahoor, fajr, practices and Quran

    10AM al wird, check-in and teaching with Laila BW. Then break and lunch for those eating.

    3:30PM teaching with Laila BW followed by prayers and time to read and write or rest. 

    8PM pot luck iftar if you can stay.  Tarawih prayers offered at night.

If you cannot come for the full day of Saturday, we recommend arriving at 3-ish PM for the 3:30 afternoon teaching.

Sunday: Morning Sahoor, fajr, practices and Quran

    10 AM check-in and wrap-up

Location:  Ra'uf Hayes' house, Bolton CT

Cost:  Suggested heart donation of $25/weekend, $15/Saturday, to cover expenses.  No obligations and a larger donation is also welcome.

Meals:  Pot luck dinner.  Please bring a dish, salad, bread…etc for sharing at dinner (Halal or vegetarian requested).   If you are eating lunch, please bring your lunch.  Refrigerator available.  Eggs, fruit, yogurt and oatmeal will be available for breakfast.

Overnight:  Space available.  Co-ordinate with Ra’uf.

What to bring:  Beads, kufi/scarf, dinner item, reading and writing books, and towel if staying over
